From Bits to Bricks – Über Sprache, Technologien und Missverständnisse.
Das Verhältnis von Architektur und Sprache könnte aktuell komplexer nicht sein. Large Language Models und Text-zu-Bild Intelligenzen erweitern nicht nur das Feld aktueller Architekturproduktion sondern werfen Fragen nach dem Wert von Datensammlungen und Archiven in der Architektur auf. Was ist heute das Verhältnis des einzelnen Objekts zum Ganzen? Und wie lässt sich unser Blick auf die Architektur erweitern durch die Linse der Technik?

Prof. i. V. Dr. Teresa Fankhänel
Teresa Fankhänel is a curator, writer and editor-in-chief of The Architectural Exhibition Review. Currently she is acting professor of architecture theory at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. Her recent exhibitions include Shouldn’t You Be Working? (2023), Andrea Canepa: As We Dwell in the Fold (2023-24) and Farmland (2025). Among her interests are the use of technologies and media for architectural design, and the history, theory and practice of architecture exhibitions. During her time as a curator at the Architekturmuseum der TUM, she was responsible for the large-scale research project “Pixels, Vectors and Algorithms” about the origins of digital tools in architecture that resulted in the exhibition and catalogue “The Architecture Machine. The Role of Computers in Architecture” (2020).
